2023 is here!
With a new year comes a whole new batch of goals. With the new goals, I always try to look at last year to see what worked and what didn't.
From a high level, my goals for this next year is as follows:
Write 100,000 words or finish my first draft of Harsh Soil,
Edit 25 hours a month every month,
Finish Gloradel Draft 3,
Begin Querying by June, and
Spend less than I make every month
2023 is the year for me to simplify things down. Focus on doing rather than a ton of supplemental tasks that take my time away from the Big 5 above. It'll be a learning process to get to this threshold, but once I get to the level where I'm consistently accomplishing the five items above, I'll be on track to be where I want to be.
Ultimately, I'm ready to start editing my first draft of my second book, The White Rose of Ganymede Station (working title) and start querying agents. I've heard querying is a process that can take several months to a couple years and the only way I'll learn more about it is by doing it.
I've also started Yellowstone. And that is a fantastic show.
As I move forward into the New Year, I'll continue to provide updates here and talk about the craft, shows, and my writing journey as 2023 keeps rolling on.
Sincerely,
Josh Acocella
