I do sometimes wonder if this blog has become me just posting my journey while learning to edit.
Sometimes it really does feel that way. However, I'm hoping that when I'm published and people are one day reading this, it gives them something to explore, some small sliver of my author's journey to tide them over while I'm in between books.
However, in regards to the editing, I think it's going surprisingly well. I'm already at 19.5 hours out of the 30-hour goal. This is already better than the March and April goal and I think I've got a real chance at hitting 30 hours this month (As of the publishing of this post I'm 1.5 hours away from hitting that vaunted 30).
I'm also going to dial up the agented submissions a little bit as I need to hit my submission goal by August 2024, so that'll be interesting. However, I finally feel like Gloradel is about as done as it can be by me. And one way or the other I'll release it when it's ready.
Aside from that, I'm still figuring things out. Still working on my faith, still trying to finish TV shows I've started, and still trying to find that ever elusive balance between work, family, and life. I finally watched season two of Jujutsu Kaisen and have started seriously doing yoga again. I'm chipping away on the X-men comics and highly recommend X-men Red by Al Ewing. I truly don't think modern X-men can get better than that run.
Before we end, please note, when I don't have reflective writing updates, I will make more of an effort to spice these topics up. But until then, it's back to writing and working for me!
Last but not least, this post's AI prompt is: dialing up agented submissions
I'm pretty sure this guy has three legs and is possibly using his foot to hold something up, or he's somehow phasing through the table. Actually, now that I look at it again, I think he's phasing through the table. Either way, I'm not sure and enjoy.
Anyways, that's all I've got for this month. May's going well and I'm hoping that I'll finally have a month where I've conquered the editing hurdle. All I've got to do is just keep chipping away.
Thank you all for your time and I hope you all have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Josh Acocella
