Work has been a little crazy, and I'm on month three of not hitting my editing goals. Every month I start it with a goal in mind, a glimmer of realization of self on the edge of the horizon, and for the last three months, I've gotten nowhere close.
The failure is not the best, especially as it's a failure I'm wholly responsible for. But at the same time, I'm still here, still in the arena and chipping away. If I want to chip away more, that's on me and I'm hoping my next blog post in May will finally find me cracking the egg that is 30 hours of editing a month.
Aside from that, I've stepped away from a lot of the stuff I've got going on to attempt a reassess. It was weird, realizing that what I've been doing hasn't been working. It was tough to face, but it was something I had to look at and admit that I wasn't up to par. I had to determine what's important for my writing goals and with that came the admission that if I want to edit then I need to prioritize editing.
As a result, I'm going to simplify my to-dos way down and also maybe stop with the highlights on Insta. I'll probably keep the reads and the travel reels up but I might delete all the post-it to-dos. I think I need to suffer in silence and develop myself some more before I return to the world stage that is social media.
Aside from that, life is pretty good. Day job is a bit busy, I recently bought an old PS3 that's backwards compatible, I read all ten books of The Beginning After the End, I enjoyed the JRE Moon landing episode, and I finally beat Baldurs Gate 3. BG3 was awesome and a part of me is already itching to replay it lol. My mission to finish up shows I've started has brought me back to the wonderful (terrible really) world of Tiger King which has been an interesting watch to say the least.
I also learned I can create AI images on Wix. So I think with each blog post I'll test the prompt with something related to the blog post. This one was: Clock and a Rest.
Anyways, that's all I got for this month. I started April strong and kind of petered out, so I'm game-planning May to focus on the important things. I guess we'll see how that goes lol.
Thank you all for your time and I hope you all have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Josh Acocella
