I apologize for the delay on this one. I wrote this post earlier in the month, but the lack of wi-fi has prevented me from posting it until now. I hope you enjoy it!
Typing this blog post in a car. Currently going 70 miles per hour, exploring the beautiful South Dakota Black Hills and am on my way to the Wind Cave National Park.
I got married a week ago which was pretty cool. I now have a wife and am about halfway through my honeymoon. My writing tasks have fallen behind but honestly, that’s okay. I know that I’m trending forward and that if there’s a time to take it easy, it’ll be my honeymoon.
Travelling is also interesting in that by seeing more of the world, I have been exposed to more things I can include within my writing. I’ve seen vastly different settings than the traditional flat Illinois plains in both the Badlands and the Black Hills within South Dakota. I’ve seen an actual buffalo sharps rifle and passed through a town of 109 people. I also went to a mineral hot spring which was cool.
There’s so much life in the world, just out there, existing constantly. And I think that if I’m to be a published author, a professional writer, I need to expose myself to it as much as possible in order to more accurately capture the human experience (or elements of it). Because end of the day, that’s all we are. Human. And if I limit myself, I’ll limit my writing.
Anyways that’s all I got for today. Thank you for your time and I hope you all are having a great day!
Sincerely,
Josh Acocella
